Ultimate is about $168 a month on annual, or about $259 month to month. Core includes unlimited stock downloads under fair use, plus a small AI credit pile (about 20 a month on the public page).
License terms matter more than the sticker. Each download is for one project. After you cancel an official plan, those old projects stay covered. New projects do not. Fair use also bans bots, mass grabs, and account sharing.
A group-buy fee undercuts $16.50. You do not get Envato’s invoice. You should not treat a zip as a license letter you can email a client. You should not dump the whole After Effects catalog in one night.
If you only needed a couple of packs this month, the cheaper seat can make sense. If the license PDF is the product, pay them.
What I check before I rely on a download
I would not scrape 200 files on day one. I would download one After Effects pack I actually need, plus one music track, plus one font.
Then I would open the license view on that item. I want to see a commercial license for a single project, not a watermarked preview. If the zip never starts, the seat is not Elements.
Then I would copy those files to a disk I own. A shared recent-downloads list is not my archive. I would not put a client brand kit in that account. I would not assume ThemeForest items came with the plan.
If templates never appear, I would stop the same day.
